Place of Birth: Wellington, New Zealand. I grew up in NZ and England, and I came to the US for graduate school.

Occupation: Geologist.

Education: I was at school a long, long time.

Hobbies: Running, reading, cooking, chatting with my friends.

Years Running: 25. 

How many miles a week do you run? Right now, around 30-40 miles. As few as 15, as many as 55.

How many times a week do you run? If 1 mile counts as a run, 7 days, if not, about 5.

How did you come to join MPRC: I moved to Houston last year. I enjoy the friendly running community here, particularly the MPRC runners.

Proudest running accomplishment: Is my consistency. And running to the finish and qualifying for Boston at my first marathon in San Francisco.

My favorite training run: At home in NZ - up the hills, through the bush, and along the Kapiti coast.

My favorite race is: The Houston marathon. The number and enthusiasm of supporters along the course was fantastic.  I hope to run it again next year.

I run because: I love it.

Running advice / Favorite running mantras: There are running quotes?

Currently signed up for any other races: None. I don't run very many races. I plan to sign up for Houston 2010.

Shoes you run in: Mizunos.

Other exercises / activities besides running: I've just started weight lifting and am looking forward to the outdoor pool opening at Memorial.

Favorite Houston restaurant: Dolce Vitae, Nippon for sushi, Brasil, my place.

Favorite book / movie / music : There are so many. A few recent are The Colour by Rose Tremain, Black Swan Green by David Mitchell, Cadillac Desert, the Good Earth by Pearl Buck.

Movies - I am not a big movie fan.  Ummmm......Dirty Dancing.
