Occupation: Civil Engineer.

Education: I graduated from the University of Washington a while ago.

Hobbies: Running, skiing, hiking. Watching sports.

Years Running: Close to 25? I started running in middle school since I was not good enough to do sports that involved any type of ball.

How many miles a week do you run? Right now probably around 20-25 miles a week. I’ll start upping the miles once the weather cools down.

How many times a week do you run? Four or five.

How did you come to join MPRC: I moved to Houston last year. I enjoy the friendly running community here, particularly the MPRC runners.

Proudest running accomplishment: Qualifying for Boston at the San Francisco Marathon in 2005.

My favorite training run: Trail running in the Cascade Mountains in Washington State. The best part is being able to soak your legs in an ice cold stream after the run.

My favorite race is: Any team/relay type race. Being on a team makes it easier to push yourself a little harder when you ask yourself “why am I doing this?”

I run because: I enjoy the people I meet.

Currently signed up for any other races: Nope. Just did the Freedom 5k this past weekend and decided it’s way too hot to be racing. I will likely sign up for the Houston Marathon.

Other exercises / activities besides running: Swimming and lifting weights.

Favorite Houston restaurant: Home (Jane is amazing in the kitchen).
